Insane Owners

There is a fine dining restaurant in Central Florida, been in business over twenty years and one of the few upscale places I refused to work, no matter what. The owner had quite a reputation as a real nut case, firing servers for serving desserts on a busy night, etc.
Any way, I'm not working there, but sitting at the bar one night waiting for a friend of mine to finish his shift. The front door opens and a couple enters, a very famous pro golfer and his wife. There are many pro golfers who live in the area and it's not unusual to see them around town. The owner greets the golfer by name and the golfer says to him, " I see there are some new restaurants opening up nearby, are you getting nervous"? This owner, without any hesitation, looks up in disgust and nearly screams at this guy, "Does Tiger Woods get nervous when you fucking go on tour"?
Needless to say, the golfer got pissed and walked out the door, I'm sure he won't be back. What a way to say hospitality !!

Coffee Drinkers

Is it just my imagination, or is this an actual trend in dining? It seems that no matter how many guests are at the table, come time for coffee service, we need to bring two pots, one regular and the other decaf.
Even just two people, they must always order diffent octanes, even if they must change their minds, just to make it more work.
I always love it when you are clearing the entrees and someone at a large table asks for coffee. I have every intention of offering this to the entire group once the table is clear and ready, but this one guy, he just can't wait. I would just love to place the dishes in my hands, back on the table, run and get their coffee right away, and continue to do this as each succesive diner asks, one at a time, of course. Plates up, plates down, one cup of coffee... repeat as needed.

Let's See If Blogging Can Curb Homocidal Tendencies

Greetings to all my fellow servers out there ! I have been a server for almost twenty years now, well past the cynacism tipping point. Don't know a whole lot about blogging, but I found one called "Waiter Rant" that has inspired me to start my own. Whoever that server is, thanks for many laughs and the realization that I am not alone in my views.
As this is my first foray into the digital world, it may take me some time to get my feet under me and have this site up to expectations, please bear with me.
